Everyday Makeup Using Powder Foundation
Hello and thanks for joining me!
Today I want to share my go-to makeup look with you. I would describe this look as clean, glowing skin with subtle definition on the cheeks and eyes. If this interests you, then follow along!
Prep Work
First, I start by applying serum and moisturizer. Then, I apply the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids Lotion SPF 50. Then I wait 15 to 20 minutes to allow the sunscreen to dry.
Following this, I prep the sides of my face with MAC Strobe Cream in Sliverlite, from the temple down to the cheekbone just under the pupil. I then mist all over with MAC Prep + Prime Fix+, pressing the moisture into my skin with the Sonia Kashuk beauty sponge.
Perfecting the Base
Moving on with complexion, I apply the Burberry Cashmere Concealer in 00 Ivory under my eyes, the sides of my nose, centre of my forehead, and my chin; blending those areas out in long, light, glaze-like sweeps with the Japonesque 915 brush.
After concealing, I apply MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation in N4 with the Real Techniques Powder Brush. I begin by stippling a thin veil of powder all over my face (the crumb coat) and then buff a second layer of foundation on to create a base that looks smoother, more uniform, yet still skin-like.
Adding Colour
After perfecting my skin tone, I apply Laura Mercier’s Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight 01 with the Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt brush to the tops of my cheekbones and temples.
I proceed with adding a whisper-thin layer of the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Bronzer in 01 Light with the IT for Ulta Airbrush Ball Wand Powder Brush to my cheeks and forehead being very mindful of where the sun would naturally hit. I’m paying special attention to not blend the bronzer into the hollows below my cheek, since we are bronzing, not contouring.
Continuing with the bronzer, I apply product to the centre of my neck and blend outward to harmonize the colour of my face and neck.
I finish off my complexion by mixing and applying the two shades of blush in the E.L.F. Beautifully Bare Natural Face Palette with the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe French Boutique Blush Brush: I glaze over my cheeks to create a “natural” blush look, and sweep the remaining product on my brush across my forehead, neck, and ears.
Finishing Touches
To complete today’s makeup look I applied Benefit’s 3D BROWtones in 4, CoverGirl Clump Crusher Water Resistant Mascara in Black Brown, Kosas Wet Lip Oil in Jellyfish, Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre in 20, and the Morphe Make It Last Setting Spray.
In this video I also share some of my favourite tips:
· how to apply highlighter for a youthful glow,
· how to use bronzer and blush synergistically to create a fresh sun-kissed look, and
· how to use your complexion colour products on your eyes for an instant boost to your look.
