Cool-Toned Pillow Talk Makeup Look

How many cool-toned lovers have felt personally ousted by the sea of warm-toned beauty trends? Thankfully the tides of trends have begun to shift thanks to trends like ballet core, mermaid core, pilates core, etc., and we must remember all the gorgeous cool-toned products from Kbeauty brands! Before I was introduced to seasonal colour analysis, I always had an affinity for cool-toned colours, especially with clothes and makeup. Although, I found myself trying to make the trendy Too Faced Sweet Peach and the Morphe 35O palettes work, and then feelings of frustration these beloved palettes didn’t look great on me. Around 2015 the hype around the reasonably new makeup brand (2013 launch) from celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury was growing, and the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat and Matte Revolution Lipstick were all over social media during 2017/2018, which led to the first Pillow Talk Collection in 2019!

With the buzz surrounding Pillow Talk, I remember purchasing the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Lip Liner and Pillow Talk Matte Revolution Lipstick when I began working at Nordstrom in May 2018. At the time, I worked for MAC and favoured smokey eyes for my shifts at the MAC counter, and the Pillow Talk lip liner and lipstick were easy grab-and-go colours! Since the lip colours were I love for me, I put my name on the waitlist for the Pillow Talk Luxury Eye Palette and Cheek To Chic Blush as soon as the pre-sale forms were opened. It was finally getting to wear the eyeshadow quad that made me feel disenchanted as the colours made my eyes look sleepy and slightly irritated. Eventually, the blusher and eyeshadows that I was coveting made their way to the back of the makeup drawer, and then, at some point, I passed the palette along to a friend who wanted it. After I began creating YouTube videos, I felt a void in my collection that could only be filled with the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Luxury Eye palette. I purchased it for a second time and felt disenchanted all over again—heavy sigh.

In 2021, I was introduced to seasonal colour analysis/seasonal colour theory, and it felt like my knowledge of colour evolved into this expansive palette filled with nuance! After I was typed as a summer light, I began to compare the products I wanted against the light summer colour palette. I found the colours I had always viewed as easy neutrals were easy because they were part of my colour palette, and then I began creative cool-toned alternatives for warm-toned colour stories that I felt enchanted by! That leads us to this post, so let’s look at some Pillow Talk cool-toned alternative products!
